Phillippo Scout Reservation is located in Cannon Falls, MN - just about 45 minutes south of the Twin Cities metro area. Phillippo has been a part of the Cub Scout Camping operations since 1993 and continues to be the the largest Cub Scout operation in our council with up to 400 people each weekend!
- Swimming Pool
- Sled Chutes (year round sledding)
- Indoor housing with air conditioning
Campsite assignments are made by Pack number. We do our best to keep entire Packs together in the same campsite - exceptions might be made if a Pack is larger than 40 people or if there are medical needs. A staff member will call you a week prior to your scheduled date at camp, you can inform them of any special requests at that time.
Capactiy: 40 people
The Camper Cabin is located in the heart of camp and provides a very comfortable sleeping option for our campers. This building includes showers, restrooms and 3 seperate bunk rooms.
Canvas Wall Tent
Set up on wooden platforms with 2 beds in each tent, these classic Scout tents are spacious and make camp set up a breeze! You can just load your stuff into the tent and you are ready to go! Mosquito netting is available for rental from the Camp Store upon request.
Bring Your Own Tent
There are designated locations in each campsite for campers to set up their own tents. Space will not be available on wooden platforms to set up your tents and you cannot take down the canvas wall tents, so please be prepared with a ground tarp.
Indoor Restrooms and Showers
The Pool House and North Shower Building will serve as the main shower and restroom facilities for the entire camp. Lockers are available for storage while you are using the pool. Campers staying indoors will have access to seperate showers and restrooms in the Camper Cabin.
Latrines are located all around camp - you won't be able to go too far without seeing one! They are in all program areas and in each campsite. Latrines are stocked with toilet paper and a hand washing station.
All of your meals will be served cafeteria style in the Dining Hall. Due to our large number of participants we will divide everyone into 2 groups for Lunch and Dinner meals. These groups will be assigned by campsite to ensure that you will be able to eat with the rest of your Pack.
The Dining Hall will remain open 24 hours a day.
Here is a snap shot of what you can expect on the first night of camp! Note - there will not be a meal served on the first night so please eat before coming to camp!
- Gates open - you will not be able to check in prior to this time
- You will be directed to a parking lot closest to your campsite. You will then unload your vehicles and carry your equipment to your campsite. A staff member will be at the enterance of the site to greet you and show you around.
- Pool open for Swim Checks (until 7:30 pm)
- Don't worry if you don't make it to the pool on Friday night! There will be time Saturday morning and during your pool rotation to get it done!
- Bring your health form and shooting sports waiver to the pool! They will ask you to turn them in before getting in the water.
- Emergency Drill and Camp Tour
- Meet back in your campsite to review emergency procedures as well as go on a camp tour! Tour will be lead by a camp staff member and they will also lead you back to your campsite at the end of the night in case you forget how to get back!
- Opening Campfire Program
- Meet the staff and enjoy a few songs and skits before returning to your campsite for the night!
- Lights Out! Get some rest before your first full day at camp!
Den Assignments (Activity Rotation Groups)
Scouts are going to be divided into groups based on Rank for the program rotations on Saturday and Sunday. We assign dens based on Pack number and rank - because of this we need to wait until everyone has checked in and completed their roster before we can finalize the list. You will find out what your Den assignment is on Saturday morning at the Flag Ceremony.
To help speed up this process - please enter the rank for each Scout on the online registration. You should enter the rank of what they will be in the Fall (example: if they are a Tiger now, they will register as a Wolf for summer camp)
Siblings will be assigned to a Den to match their age group, if you would rather them stay together with their Cub Scout you must notify the staff at check in.
Scouts who will be entering 4th grade in the fall have the opportunity to stay at camp an extra night and participate in Webelos Outpost! This program is designed to show new Webelos Scouts what Boy Scout camp will be like in the future. Scouts will hike to the upper level of camp, set up their own tents, cook dinner over the fire and participate in some special activities:
- Pellet Guns
- Disc Golf
- Tomahawk Throwing
- Ultimate Frisbee
- Scouts will also be able to complete some additional adventure requirements for Webelos Walkabout, Cast Iron Chef and Cast Away!
$35 per participant (youth and adult)
Who can go?
Webelos Scouts (entering 4th grade in the fall) and their adult partner.
What time will Outpost be done?
You will return to the main part of camp by 11 am on Monday - lunch will not be provided on Monday afternoon.
How do I register for Outpost?
When you complete the online registration for Cub Scout Summer Camp there will be a drop down option for "Webelos attending Outpost" and "Adult attending Outpost". Select these options to be added to the program, it's as easy as that! Make sure to register for Outpost right away because space is limited. If the Outpost session is full, please still register for the weekend and you will be put on a seperate wait-list for outpost.
